      The pub used to be a club but is now open to the general public. Two hand pulls on the bar most of the time, mainly locally sourced pales rotated regularly with great guest ales from further afield, Titanic plum Porter is a regular favourite with the locals. No food available but they do offer a great range of snacks, beer garden with separate smoker’s area, popular with the local ramblers, well behaved children and dogs are welcome at all times. Events – Wednesday is acoustic / open mic night from 9pm with a complimentary buffet. Every other Saturday evening we a good selection of live bands playing from 8.30pm. Sundays we have Chase the Ace card games @ 2pm followed by several games of 13 card Bingo. They have Sky Sports with three TV’s which shows Premier league, Championship games and Formula 1. They serve a great selection of lagers, bitters, ciders, Guinness, and craft ales alongside the two cask ales, the bottle fridge is well stocked with a range of beers & cider, soon to include a selection of craft cans for consuming to take away.       A conversion of the former Regency cinema by JD Wetherspoon on the corner of Kingsway. The pub has a big emphasis on cask ales, offering up to Six choices at any one time. The usual excellent value range of Wetherspoon meals are served every day until 11pm. Families are welcome. The following is from the Wetherspoon web-site: This is an unmissable local landmark, still known to many locals as ‘The Regent’ from its days as the town’s leading cinema. The Regent Cinema opened on 6 October 1930. The auditorium was decorated in a ‘modern French’ style, with seating for 650 in the stalls and 500 in the circle. Renamed the Essoldo, in 1961, it was converted into a bingo hall four years later. Part of the old building reopened as The Regent in 1988 and as the Cineplex in 2004.

      The Hutt is quite possibly the oldest Pub in the area having been a coaching house for the nearby Newstead Abbey since the middle ages. Local lore of course insists the pub is haunted and it is certifiably connected to the nearby Abbey (the Ancestral seat of Byron) by underground passages.       Situated at a busy cross roads on the main road between Nottingham and Mansfield the Larch farm is hard to miss. Three real ales are on offer at all times in this converted farm building.
