The Hilcote Arms reopened on 24th March 2017, after being closed since 2014. Very extensive refurbishment has seen the introduction of Four hand pulls, a log burner, and new interiors throughout. The pub used to be a club but is now open to the general public. The Regent Cinema opened on 6 October 1930. The auditorium was decorated in a ‘modern French’ style, with seating for 650 in the stalls and 500 in the circle. Renamed the Essoldo, in 1961, it was converted into a bingo hall four years later. Part of the old building reopened as The Regent in 1988 and as the Cineplex in 2004.

Priors Well Brewery opened their new brewpub on the ground floor of the former Mansfield Brewery on 19 July 2019. Large range of ever changing real ales from Priors Well and others. Function Room also available for hire. On site bistro operated until March 2024, but currently no food service. Usually opens or varies hours on Mansfield Town home matchdays when they would otherwise be closed.

The Hutt is quite possibly the oldest Pub in the area having been a coaching house for the nearby Newstead Abbey since the middle ages. The pub features low beamed ceilings and traditional flagstone floors in a typical olde world class that is often imitated by buildings of a lesser standard. Local lore of course insists the pub is haunted and it is certifiably connected to the nearby Abbey (the Ancestral seat of Byron) by underground passages. Five to six real ales are on offer to accompany an extensive lunch and evening food selection. An extensive wine selection is also available. Large conservatory for hire.

The building that houses the Black Market Venue and brewery has been in continuous use selling ales for just shy of 100 years, but current owner Dave Drury took over in 2007 and was keen to promote real ale from the local area. In 2015 Black Market Brewery was established with the first beer, Illicit, going on sale in January 2016. This 4.3% citrus pale ale remains the flagship brew from the 2.5 barrel plant located in the basement with other seasonal beers available and a guest beer can be found on the 3 handpulls in the bar. The venue is also host to the well established 500 capacity live music venue which feature 2 stages with live music most weekends. All rooms are on one level and wheel chair accessible there is no disabled toilet facility. Sunday acoustic music afternoons twice monthly 5.30 to 9.00pm. Quiz every Sunday.
